Community Links is a province-wide, impact organization located in Mi’kma’ki / Nova Scotia. We know the many positive contributions older adults make and the importance of ensuring seniors can live healthy and engaged lives.
Community Links works in collaboration with senior serving organizations to promote and support age-friendly, inclusive communities and to ensure older Nova Scotians are connected and valued. We recognize and value the diversity of Nova Scotia’s communities and people. Promoting inclusion opens the door to a greater range of ideas, talents, and solutions.

Regional Coordinators
Regional Coordinators work around the province sparking connections and encouraging collaboration to work towards a more age-friendly Nova Scotia.

Connecting and Collaborating
Supported by Regional Coordinators, coalitions offer members opportunities to learn, share resources and increase their impact. All interested community members are welcome.

Community-based Senior Serving Sector Research
Community Links and IONS partnered to conduct research to identify the strengths, needs, and opportunities for community-based senior serving groups in Nova Scotia.

Micro-grants
In Fall 2023 Community Links launched the Seniors’ Support and Connect Grant. Through this fund we were able to support 189 community-based senior serving groups and organizations with a $2,000 micro-grant.

A New Lens on Aging
A New Lens on Aging is a photo campaign designed to reduce the stigma around aging and change how people think about getting older.

Seniors Connect NS
Seniors Connect NS is a free, phone-based outreach pilot program designed to increase social connection and reduce loneliness for isolated older adults from the comfort of their homes.

With roots dating back to 1992, Community Links has evolved over the years. What started as a community development project designed to connect isolated rural Nova Scotian communities has grown into a provincial impact organization. Through all the changes, our goal to support, collaborate with, and advocate for the community-based senior serving sector and older adults remains at the heart of our work.
Community Links has been supporting senior-serving groups and organizations to strengthen their individual and collective capacity for more than 30 years and continues to advocate for age friendly communities that ensure all seniors can age well in this province.
